Deposit terms

Last updated 24 September 2026

These terms cover the £5 founding deposit you pay on this website. Please read them before you pay. They sit alongside our privacy policy. Nothing in them takes away your legal rights as a consumer.

1. Who we are

CleanUnlock is run by a sole trader business based in the United Kingdom ("we", "us"). You can reach us at team@cleanunlock.com. We aim to reply within 2 working days.

2. What CleanUnlock is, and where it stands

CleanUnlock is an iPhone and iPad app, in development, that lets a child unlock screen time by tidying and scanning their room. It isn't available yet. Screenshots, videos and descriptions on this website are concept previews and the finished app may differ, although we will keep to the core idea described here. If the app changes in a way that matters to you, you can have your deposit back (section 5).

3. What the £5 deposit gets you

The deposit is a one-off payment of £5, including any VAT. It is not a subscription and nothing renews from it. You must be 18 or over to pay a deposit.

4. The founding price

At launch we'll email you a personal, single-use Apple offer code. It gives you your first year of CleanUnlock for £29.99, so your first year costs £34.99 in total including today's £5. That's 30% off the £49.99 standard yearly price.

5. Refunds

Before launch: you can have your deposit back in full, at any time and for any reason. Just email team@cleanunlock.com from the address you paid with, or tell us which email you used.

After launch: you can still have it back in full until you redeem your founding code. We will also refund you if CleanUnlock isn't available on the App Store in your country at launch, or if it doesn't work on your devices.

We pay refunds to your original payment method within 14 days of your request. Your bank may take a few more days to show it.

Your legal cancellation right: under the Consumer Contracts Regulations you have a 14-day right to cancel. Our refund policy above goes further than that, and doesn't replace it.

6. If we don't launch

If CleanUnlock isn't on the App Store by Easter 2027 (Sunday 28 March 2027), we'll refund every deposit automatically. You won't need to ask. The same applies if we decide to stop the project before then. Refunds go to your original payment method within 14 days, and we'll email you to let you know.

7. Payment

Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe and we never see or store them. Stripe will email your receipt.

8. Our responsibility to you

We will provide what we've promised with reasonable care and skill. We don't exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for breaching your statutory rights as a consumer.

Otherwise, because this is a deposit for an app that doesn't exist yet, our total liability to you in connection with the deposit is limited to the amount you paid us. We aren't responsible for losses that weren't a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example to reflect how the app turns out. We won't make changes that reduce what you were promised when you paid without telling you first. If you don't like a change, you can have a full refund. The date at the top shows when these terms last changed.
